Gayl Comfort Brock, 77, a resident of Brandon, MS died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 10 am until 1 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Rev. Michael Moore will officiate the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Ms. Brock was a native of Brandon, MS. She was the daughter of Bennye Comfort and Renna Smith Comfort. She worked 25 years for the USGS. Gayl will be remembered as a great cook, professional seamstress, someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She made lots of friends at the YMCA of Flowood, MS. Gayl was the youngest of five children. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Ms. Brock was preceded in death by her parents, Bennye and Renna Smith Comfort; and several of her siblings.
Ms. Brock is survived by her children, Samantha Delatte, Ron Brock and Roger and his wife Laura Brock; her sister, Voncille Wilson. Gayl was blessed with 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of friends.
