Mr. George W. Arinder, age 85, and a lifelong resident of the Lorena community died Friday, July 12, 2019, at the Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest following a brief illness.
Funeral services were be conducted at 2pm Sunday, July 14, 2019, from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with Rev. Tam Maddox officiating. Visitation was held from 5pm-8pm Saturday, July 13, 2019, and again Sunday from 1:pm-1:30pm. Graveside services were not held, the family remained at the funeral home to visit with friends. The final resting place is Lorena Baptist Cemetery.
Mr. Arinder was born on Friday, April 27, 1934, in Smith County to his parents Lonnie Ivey Arinder and Ina Ruth Boykin Arinder. He had retired from Tyson in 1981 as a supervisor. He enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved his family, visiting with friends, gardening and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Arinder was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.
Survivors include his wife Gladys Thrasher Arinder; three children; Steve Arinder of Pachuta, MS. Deborah Arinder Stone and her husband Scott of Shalimar, FL and George Arinder, Jr. of Meridian, MS. He also leaves behind a legacy of three grandchildren; Christopher Smith, Justin Smith, and Brandon Arinder; 5 great-grandchildren, Braxton Arinder, Haley Steadham, Brooklyn Steadham, Liam Everett Smith, and Ellery Craft.
