George Clemence Boyles, 105, passed away silently in his sleep on Thursday, the 1st of October, 2015.
George "Grandpa" Boyles, born in Scott County Mississippi, experienced over ten decades of life beginning with the horse and buggy, living through the most historic world events and advancements of humanity. His career was in retail with W.E. Walker Stores and Bill's Dollar Stores where he served as a store manager until his retirement in 1973. His wife, Ola Everett Boyles, preceded him in death in 2003 after celebrating 74 years of marriage.
George is survived by his son, James and wife Mary Margaret; grandchildren, James Jr., Thomas, Mary, John, Elizabeth and eight great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to his longtime caregiver, Rebecca Chavez, who he loved and always acknowledged as "the best there is".
A Celebration of George's life will be held at six o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 6th of October at the Bradshaw-Carter Home, 1734 W. Alabama St. in Houston.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening on Thursday, the 8th of October at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 295 East First St. in Forest, Mississippi.
A funeral service will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 9th of October at Forest United Methodist Church, 501 East 3rd Street in Forest, Mississippi.
