Mr. George Willie Franklin, age 73, a resident of Leesburg passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at his residence. Visitation was held 6-9pm Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service was held 4pm Monday, October 15, 2012 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Hamilton officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Morton.

Mr. Franklin was born in Scott County in 1938. He was an avid book reader and loved horses. Mr. Franklin traveled abroad as a truck driver for R & L Carriers for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Mary Franklin; son Donnie Franklin, foster father, John Pruitt; brother, Demmie John Franklin and granddaughter, Jennifer Franklin.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gail Anderson Franklin of Leesburg; mother, Ruby Pruitt of Leesburg; 9 children, Richie Franklin (Loretta) of Leesburg, Randy Franklin (Cindy) of Ocean Springs, Tommy Franklin (Brenda) of Harrisville, J.B. Franklin (Catrina) of Pelahatchie, Mitchell Craig of Pelahatchie, Sherry Wheeler (Scott) of Leesburg, Allen Franklin of Corinth, Lesley Porter (Pete) of Morton and Jonathan Franklin (Ashley) of Leesburg; sisters, Francis James (Joel) of Conehatta and Marie Beauchamp of Kosciusko; 19 grandchildren, Tabitha Franklin, Amy Prestage, Morgan Franklin, Nikki Pruitt, Amy Miles Ingram, Brittney Irby, Stephanie Franklin, Amy Parker, Daniel Franklin, Amber Moreno, Amanda Moreno, Tommy Rhinewalt, Dustin Prestage, Stephen Wheeler, Meghan Wheeler, Kelsey Porter, Kyle Porter, Taylor Franklin and Jenna Franklin; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Pete Porter, Scott Wheeler, Daniel Franklin, Morgan Franklin, Jeffery Rodgers and Scottie Davidson. Honorary pallbearers were Cameron Bunch and Tommy Haynes.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
