George Yelverton

George M. Yelverton Brandon, MS George M. Yelverton, age 74, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Hospice Ministries, Inc. in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 10 am until 12 Noon at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services will be held Saturday at 2 pm in the Unity Methodist Church Cemetery near Taylorsville, MS. George was born November 10, 1940 to the late Killie Alfred and Winnie V. Tanner Yelverton in Smith County, MS. He graduated from Taylorsville High School and served in the U. S. Army for several years. George lived in Brandon for the last 43 years where he was owner/operator of George’s Door Service, Inc. Hunting, riding horses and going on trail rides were his favorite hobbys. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Shiela Ford. Survivors include his son, Jimmy Yelverton (Angelia) and grandchildren, Hunter and Haley; and three sisters, Faye Hudson, Killene Cockran and Melinda Gable (Carroll)
