Georgia Agnew

Georgia N. Agnew, 99, a resident of Brandon, MS died peacefully Sunday morning, September 17, 2017. Funeral services were held at 11 am Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon, MS with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Visitation was held from 5-7 pm Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and from 10-11 am Tuesday at the church. Rev. Ty Danielson and Dr. John Pace, Jr. officiated the services.

Mrs. Agnew was a member of many clubs and organizations in earlier years, including garden clubs, bridge clubs, book clubs, Jacettes, and Little Theater. She was one of the first docents for the Mississippi Museum of Art.

Mrs. Agnew was preceded in death by her husband, Levoy Bryant Agnew “Lee B. Agnew”; parents, Washburn Orville Nicar and Linnie Nicar and daughter-in-law, Donna Kay Agnew.

Mrs. Agnew is survived by her sons, Lee B. Agnew and George E. (Vicki) Agnew; daughter, Mary Lynne A. (David) Underwood; grandchildren, Wendy K. Hutchins, Bo (Robyn) Agnew, Kathryn A. (David) Sikes, Paula (Shanehan) Westphal, Dee Ann (Bubba) Wilson and Vicki Grimes; ten great grandchildren, Bryant Hutchins, Brandon Hutchins, Bodie Agnew, Cosson Agnew, Logan Sikes, Wesley Sikes, Leland Westphal, Haley Wilson, Emma Wilson, Wade Wilson and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Ben Walker, Bob England, Neil Parker, Jim McLaurin, Joe Tarver, Al Price and Ed Peters.

Memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, Young at Heart, Son Valley or other charity of your choice.
