Georgia Ann (Carroll) Conn
May 9, 1954 – March 7, 2018
Georgia Ann (Carroll) Conn, 63, of Pearl, MS passed away peacefully, after an extended illness, surrounded by her family on March 7, 2018. Georgia had come to know Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was at peace with God. Her favorite song the last several years of her life was Amazing Grace.
She was born on May 9, 1954, in Shreveport, LA, the daughter of John D. Carroll Sr. and Kiyoko (Ono) Carroll.
Growing up in West Monroe, LA, she lived her adult life in the Jackson, MS area. She had two baseball gifted sons who she loved with all her heart. She spent numerous hours taking her sons to ball practice and cheering them on at the ball diamond. They often referred to her as their “Walking Angel.” Among other things, Georgia enjoyed working and gardening in her yard. Both she and her sons loved their pet dogs: Milo and Angel. She also had an infectious smile and a sweet voice and spirit that will be greatly missed. As was often observed by family and co-workers, she genuinely cared for the needs and well -being of others, even over her own needs and well-being. Georgia worked faithfully for 30 years at the U.S. Postal Service main branch in downtown Jackson. Prior to this she worked for the General Electric plant in Jackson.
Georgia is survived by her son, Donald Conn, Jr. of Pearl, MS, mother, Kiyoko Carroll of Jackson, MS, step-mother, Ruth Carroll of Ridgeland, MS, sisters, Judy Murray of Flowood, MS, Catherine Allison (Brian) of Fishers, IN, Janie Dukes of Jackson, MS, brother John (Johnny) D. Carroll, Jr. (Karana) of Madison, MS, step-brother, David Stewart (Terry) of Edmond, OK, and many precious nieces and nephews. Georgia is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Conn and her father, John Carroll, Sr.
