Gertrude Pierce

Gertrude Pierce, age 87 a resident of the Springfield community, passed away on Wednesday April 17 in Brandon MS.

Visitation will be Friday from 6pm to 8pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton MS.

Funeral Service will be 3pm Saturday at Springfield Baptist Church in Morton MS.

After retiring from AT&T after 37 years she and her husband Hamp moved back home to Springfield. She was very active in her church where she served in many areas. Working with the children brought her joy.. Mrs. Gertrude was recognized for growing and keeping fresh flowers in the church.

Preceded in death were her husband Hamp Pierce; parents, Jim Wardell and Dora Lee Manning; brother, Truman Manning;  sister, Maggie Willingham and brother-n-laws, Homer Willingham and Ed Lingle.

Survivors are two sons, John Mark Pierce and wife Margaret Dee, Ronald H. Pierce; three sisters, Jimmie Dee Lingle, Opal King, husband, Eddie, Mary A. Gray husband Gene; sister-in-law, Zell Manning; three grandchildren, Madelyn Pierce, Oliver B. Pierce, wife Kim, Thomas Pierce; one great grandchild, Emilia Pierce.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
