Mrs. Gladys Horn Arinder, age 92, a resident of Morton passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation was held 2-4pm Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Kalem United Methodist Church. Funeral Service was held 4pm Sunday at the church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Art Kintsley , Rev. Gary Glazier and Rev. Buddy Bayliss officiated the services. Arrangements by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Morton.
Mrs. Arinder was born in Scott County on February 22, 1920. She loved reading her Bible and attending Kalem United Methodist Church where she was a member for 62 years. Before her health failed, she enjoyed working in her garden and cooking for her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Watson Horn and Leone Chambers Horn; husband, Tracy L. Arinder Sr.; sisters, Frances Kerdraskie and Anna Laura Davis; brothers, Lexie, Billy and Charles Horn.
She is survived by her two children, Pat Arinder (Betty) of Amory and Tracy Arinder Jr. (Sandy) of Morton; 4 grandchildren, Ginnie Arinder (Lamar Burkes), Amy Arinder Young (Bryan), Matthew Arinder (Misty) and Jeffrey Arinder; 6 great grandchildren, Curt Burkes, Hallie Young, Blake Young, Tyler Arinder, Jasmine Byrd and Abigale Arinder; brother-in-law, George Davis; sisters-in-law: Mary Jane Horn, Ann Arinder and Rose Arinder; cousin & special friend, Sarah Abernathy; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were John Horn, Lexie Horn, Ronnie Davis, Dalton France, Dwayne Madison, Bryan Young and Lamar Burkes.
