Gleda Ruth Watson Williams, 67, Meridian, passed away June 7, 20l7 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian.
Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Forest is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday, June l7, 20l7
10:00 a.m.; with service to follow at ll:00 a.m. in the chapel. Rev. Bobby McKay will officiate. Music will be presented by William Watson, Irene Martin and Kathy Lee. Pallbearers will be Matthew Wiggins, Jim Gallaspy, Hanna Watson, Justin Luke, David Lee and honorary pallbearer Steve Martin. Burial will follow in the Harperville Cemetery.
Gleda began her education in Jackson Public School, transferred and graduated at Scott Central High School. She furthered her education at East Central Junior College. She was employed by the State of Mississippi Vocational Rehabilitation Department in Jackson and transferred to the Meridian office where she worked until her retirement.
Gleda was preceded in death by her husband Steve Williams, her parents Hubert and Helga Watson, grandparents Raymond and Fannie Burnham, Ab and Geneva Watson and a brother-in-law Gene Wiggins.
She is survived by one sister Linda Wiggins, Hattiesburg, one brother William Watson (James Ball), Brisbane, CA, one nephew Matthew Wiggins and family, Hattiesburg., three aunts Irene Martin, Harperville; Jackie Noel, Chalmette, LA, Geraldine Watson, Philadelphia, MS and a number of cousins.
The family would like to express deepest appreciation to her fellow employees Patricia Anderson, Demetrice Cooley, et al and her neighbors the Justin Luke Family for their kindnesses to Gleda,
Gleda will be remembered for her love of family and her fondness for the color purple.
