Glenda Lee Canoy

June 28, 1938 — November 16, 2014

Glenda Lee Canoy, age 76, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her home in Brandon. Visitation will begin tonight, November 18, 2014 at Meadow Grove Baptist Church from 5 until 8 pm and again Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 9 am until the 10 am Service at Meadow Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Glenda Lee King was born on June 28, 1938 in Jackson, MS to the late Percy Lee and Georgia Audra Strickland King. She was a counselor/teacher for over 30 years for Rankin County School District. She was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church since 1991. She was a former member of Van Winkle Baptist Church and Parkway Baptist Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel and be with friends; she loved to cook; and she loved playing domino’s every Thursday.
She loved working in her yard. Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year and she loved decorating for it. She also enjoyed watching and ordering from QVC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Powell Canoy. Survivors include sons, Michael King Canoy (Cindy) of Terry, MS and their children, Audra Claire Canoy and Joshua Brower Canoy, Marcus Clay Canoy (Whitney) of Puckett, MS and their children, Kayleigh Elizabeth Canoy, Nolan Powell Canoy, and Jase Clayton Canoy, and Randall Powell Canoy (Tamara) of Decorah. IA and their children, Krista Lea Canoy, Allie Joanne Canoy, and Randi Kate Canoy; and one sister, Carol Swindoll (Robert) of Terry, MS.

Memorials may be made to Batson Children’s Hospital; Juvenile Diabetes Foundation; or Meadow Grove Baptist Church.
