She was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Fred A. Downs of Brandon, MS; her children, Connie L. Downs of Orlando, FL and David W. Downs (Kate) of Pass Christian, MS; one sister, Elaine Lifer Whitney of Clinton, MS; and four grandchildren, Chris Downs of Tupelo, MS, Jeannie Downs, Tony Downs and Noah Downs all of Pass Christian, MS.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund.
