Gloria Massey Harvey, 79, passed away Tues. Feb. 22, 2011 at the Wisteria Gardens Nursing Home in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held Thurs. Feb. 24, 2011 from 2:30pm.-3:30pm. with a prayer service following at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside services are 4pm. Thurs. Feb. 24, 2011 at the Brandon Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS with Rev. Bernard Nail officiating the services. Pallbearers were Mrs. Harvey’s nephews.

Mrs. Harvey was born in Rankin County, MS and she graduated from Pelahatchie High School. She was married to the late Huey E. Harvey and after his retirement from Southern Natural Gas they settled down in Brandon, MS. Mrs. Harvey was a charter member of the Brandon Baptist Church where she was very active in sunday school, prayer service, and the WMU. Mrs. Harvey was a member of the Eastern Star and was also on the board of directors of the Mobile Medical Missions where she made several missions trips. She is preceded in death by her husband, Huey E. Harvey; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Massey of Morton, MS; one brother, John A. Massey and one nephew, John O. Massey.

Mrs. Harvey is survived by her brother, Dr. Sam Massey (Jamie) of Brandon, MS; two sisters, Charlotte M. Thompson of Morton, MS and Lynn M. Lamb (Henry) of Tupelo, MS; one sister-in-law, Barbara H. Daniels of Tulsa, OK and 18 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brandon Baptist Church 100 Brandon Baptist Dr. Brandon, MS 39042 or Hospice Ministries 450 Town Center Blvd. Ridgeland, MS 39157.
