Gloria Lee Powell, 81, of Brandon, MS, passed away Sat. April 15, 2017 at her home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Mon. April 17, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. and on Tues. April 18, 2017 from 10am-10:45am at Brandon First United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am on Tues. April 18, 2017 at Brandon First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Springridge United Methodist Cemetery in Byram, MS.
Mrs. Powell was born in Shivers, MS and has been a longtime resident of Rankin County, MS. She was a member of Brandon First United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS. Mrs. Powell loved to travel and enjoyed working in her garden.
She is survived by her husband, John Thomas Powell; two daughters, Brelinda Mize Barlow (Charles) and Kathy Mize Blakeney (Gregg); sister, Lily Gay Blackwell (James); brother, William Ted Lee (Clarice); five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Powell is preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn Thomas and Lottie Mae Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brandon First United Methodist Church at 205 Mary Ann Dr. Brandon, MS 39042.
