GLORIA KENNEDY PRESSGROVE
1947 - 2019
Gloria Kennedy Pressgrove of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away on May 2, 2019 at the age of 72 due to chondrosarcoma. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday May 4th at Ott and Lee, Brandon, MS with a visitation 5-7 Friday May 3rd and starting at 12 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Internment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
Gloria was born in Jackson, Mississippi and graduated from Central High School. She met her husband, Guy Alva Pressgrove, at church and they married July 10, 1965. They enjoyed gardening together and fellowship with family and friends. She retired from Forman Perry Watkins Krutz and Tardy Attorneys after working at the firm for 29 years. She was a member of Pinelake Church and enjoyed her friends at her Sunday School class. Her life was devoted to service to her Lord and Savior, her family and to her many friends and extended family.
Gloria was devoted to prayer for others. Many lives were touched by her faith and grace. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who made everyone feel loved and special. Her life was a testimony to God’s miracles, even in sickness. She loved singing God’s praises and was an angel on earth for her family, friends and all acquaintances.
She is predeceased by her husband, Guy Alva Pressgrove, her father, James Greer Kennedy, and her mother and father-in-law Hal & Louise Pressgrove. She is survived by her mother, Ruby Kennedy; her three children Hal Greer Pressgrove (Ramona), David Jason Pressgrove (Maria) and Kristen Pressgrove Lafhameyer (Mark); her cherished grandchildren, Kennedy Pressgrove (Chandler), Olivia Yates (Robert), Isabella, Samuel, Sean Patrick, and Eva Lynn; her sister, Vikki Kennedy Watkins (Robert); and her in-laws, Arnold & Jane Pressgrove and Yvonne & Robert Bertolet; and her nieces and nephews, Janna, Barry, Toni (Sissy, predeceased), Todd, Kathleen, Emily, Charlotte and Richard.
In addition to the extended aunts, uncles and beloved cousins from the Kennedy, Foshee and Pressgrove families, she had many caring friends and caregivers. Their prayers uplifted her daily. Flowers may be sent to Ott and Lee, 1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042.
