Mrs. Gloria Bates Turner, age 52, a resident of Morton passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at her residence. Visitation was held 5-8pm Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at New Liberty Baptist Church and 8am -2pm Thursday at the church. Funeral services were held 2pm Thursday, October 29, 2015 at New Liberty Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Paul Smith officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Gloria was born in Scott County on September 1, 1963. Gloria loved the Lord and her church. She had a desire to see the children of the church grow in the Lord. She started the childrens camp at New Liberty Baptist Church and loved going to Centrifuge with the youth. Gloria loved her family and grandchildren very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Dale Bates and Ada G. Johnson Bates; grandparents, Bill and Sadie Bates; uncle, J.H. Mouchette and grandmother, Annie Laurie Mouchette.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jimmy Turner of Morton; children, Lindsey Stampley (Jonathan) of Morton and Jessica Weems (Clarke) of Morton; sister, Teresa Sims (Mike) of Walnut Grove; brother, Gerald Bates (Vicki) of Morton; 3 grandchildren, Kaylyn Grace Fowler, Bennett Weems and Bella Weems; nieces & nephews, Brandi Bates Norman (David), Brad Bates, Jason Bates, James Whitehead and Amanda Whitehead; a host of great nieces, great nephews and friends. Special friends that were dear to Gloria were Bro. Paul and Karen Smith.

Pallbearers were Kenny Moss, Willie McCurdy, Nicky Crapps, Ricky Holmes, Mark Torrence and Sidney Lum. Honorary pallbearers were Brad Bates, Jason Bates, James Whitehead, Rory Garcia, Jeff Latham and Billy McCurdy.

Memorials may be made in her name to New Liberty Baptist Church.
