Grace Corene Henry, age 92, a resident of the Barefoot Springs Community passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Merit Health Rankin. Visitation was held 12-2pm Monday, February 29, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Monday at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Barefoot Springs Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Holmes, Bro. Bill Prestage and Bro. Patrick Henry officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Henry was born in Rankin County on December 15, 1923. She loved to cook and garden. Corene loved her church at Barefoot Springs very much. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Wycliff Henry; parents, Alex Berry Stevenson and Lula Bell Joyner Stevenson and brother, James L. Stevenson.
She is survived by her children, Roger Henry of Epps, LA, Jerry Henry (Barbara) of Morton, John Maxie Henry (Beverly) of Pearl and Lynda Farmer (John) of Brandon; sister, Marie Massey of Morton; brothers, Charles Stevenson (Nancy) of Morton, Paul Stevenson of Yazoo City and Ellie Ray Stevenson (Wanda) of Morton; 7 grandchildren, Roger Henry Jr. (Pam), Jana Alvarez (Robert), Jerry Henry Jr., Angela Townsend (Ken), Nikki Tuttle, Patrick Henry (Sarah) and Christie McKee (Brian); 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Rodney Henry Jr., Robert Alvarez, Jerry Henry, Ken Townsend, Brian McKee, James Waldrip, Ethan Henry, Cody Townsend, Payton Tuttle, Max Henry and Hunter Alvarez.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Barefoot Springs Baptist Cemetery Fund.
