Mr. Grady Delton Kennedy age 72, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS. Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel with interment following the service at the Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Morton. Rev. John Goodhue and Mark Bates officiating the services.
Mr. Kennedy was born on December 07, 1944 in Magee, MS to his parents Velton and Albert Craft Kennedy. He married his sweet precious wife Mrs. Margie Ray on September 9, 1984. Mr. Grady and his parents moved here from Simpson County and have lived in the Morton almost all of his life. Grady had a great passion and love for fishing, and he loved raising farm animals and along with that raising chickens. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and different card games. The family stated that he loved listening to music and his all-time favorite singer was none other than Mr. Hank Williams, Sr. He loved being around his family and all though he did not say much, he truly loved his family very much.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Velton and Alberta Kennedy; his brother, Danny Kennedy; his grandson, Christopher Austin Dunn.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Ray Kennedy; two daughters, Karen McCarty (John Ulmer) of Morton, Tammy Bragg of South Carolina; his brother, James Kennedy; his sister, Linda Singleton; his grandchildren, Alisha Crimm, Brittany Dunn, Cody Bryan Dunn; and his five great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were John Ulmer, Mark Bates, Charlie Jones, Willie Ray, James Crimm, and Thomas Jones.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
