Greer C. Sims, 83, died Sat. April 30, 2011 at the Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon, MS. Memorial Services will be held 1:30pm Mon. May 2, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with visitation commencing one hour prior to service time.
An Alabama native, Mr. Sims worked as a district representative for McCulloch Saw Company prior to his retirement in 1984 shortly after moving to Rankin County. He was a long time aviation enthusiast who specialized in the construction and flying of radio controlled model airplanes. Mr. Sims was a charter member and immediate past president of the Brandon Radio Control Modelers Club. A lifelong Methodist, he was always able and willing to help others in many endeavors.
Mr. Sims is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Joan Sims of Pearl, MS; his brother, Fred Sims and wife Jody of Birmingham, AL and four nieces and nephews.
