Guy Woods, 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at home with his family by his side.  A graveside service will be held at 1pm Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Doty Springs Cemetery in Attala County.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.

Guy was born in McCool, MS, on November 22, 1932, to Willis Martin and Effie Barfield Woods.  He joined the U.S. Navy after he graduated high school and he was a proud Veteran of the Korean War.  Mr. Woods was a member of Doty Springs Baptist Church.  He loved hunting and fishing, which included deep sea fishing with his family, he also enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mamie Sue Woods; children, Jerry Woods (Raylene Stephens), Ricky Lee Woods (Faye) and Angie Woods Canoy (Tracy); sister, Dorothy McDaniel; grandchildren, Matthew Guy Woods, Bobby Lee Woods, Adam Donald Woods, Leslie Ann Woods Cerniglia, Christian Andrew Woods, Amy Laura Woods and Jacob Woods Canoy; great grandchildren, Isabelle Lea Woods and Rhett Smith.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Bessie, Clarence, Ellen, Mavis, Clyde and Inez.
