Gwen Hales

Gwen Hales, 64, a resident of Pearl, MS, passed away Tues. Jan. 30, 2024, at home. Graveside Services will be held at 11am Thurs. Feb. 1, 2024, at Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery in Polkville, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.

Ms. Hales was born Oct. 26, 1959, to Margaret Ann Polk Hales and James H. Hales. Ms. Hales had a career in athletics as a basketball & softball coach, youth sports director, (UIC) Umpire in Chief for 20 years. She owned High Five Sports for 15 years. She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, especially growing Hibiscus, and her fur babies. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Hales was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Ann Polk and James H. Hales.

She is survived by her companion, Anna Gipson; special friend, Chris Collins and a host of other family and friends.
