Hack Silas Walston, III passed away on February 5, 2025.
Hack was born in Meridian, Mississippi on December 16, 1938, to Corenna “Renee” Hone Walston and Hack Silas Walston, Jr. He graduated from Meridian High School and then attended Meridian Junior College following a stint serving in the United States Air Force.
In September of 1963 he married Sylvia Williams and together they raised two daughters. During their 61-year marriage, they lived in New Orleans and surrounding areas, Meridian, and finally Brandon, their home since 1979. He was employed by Delta Air Lines for many years, primarily working as a Ticket Agent.
Hack was a man of many interests and talents. He was an accomplished photographer and woodworker and enjoyed fishing, gardening, birdwatching, and building and flying RC airplanes. He was also a charter member of Nativity Lutheran Church and served faithfully in various capacities over the years.
Hack was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Richard Crockett, and infant son Matthew.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia Walston, daughters Maria Walston Crockett and Wendy Walston Ketchum (Kellon), and grandson Christopher Ketchum. He is also survived by his sister Gail Lonas (Ed) and many dear extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church, Brandon, Mississippi on Thursday February 13, 2025, at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nativity Lutheran Church, 495 Crossgates Blvd, Brandon, Mississippi 39042.
