Mr. Hansel Smith, age 80, a resident of Morton passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at MS. Care Center in Morton.  A memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Morton United Methodist Church.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Smith was born in Newton County on August 10, 1939.  He was a mechanic for many years.  He loved watching Banjo shows that featured the Blue Grass Music.  Hansel loved his dog, and always fed her really good table food.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Smith; parents, Ollie and Gertrude Smith and several siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammi Upshaw of Morton; brother, Franklin Smith of Morton; 4 grandchildren, Brian, Joshua, Danielle and Nathanial Upshaw and a host of friends.
