Surrounded by family and friends, Harold Alan Hogue (affectionately known as “Pop”) peacefully passed to his eternal resting place on June 14th, 2024, at the age of 75. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hamilton Moses Hogue and Mary Albright Hogue, and his sister, Sandra Hogue Foreman.
He is survived by his beloved wife Linda Price Hogue; children Justin Alan Hogue (Amy) and Liz Wade (Shane); grandchildren Logan, Kylie, and Macy Kate Hogue, and Noah Densmore.
Harold Hogue was born in 1948 in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated from Provine High School (1966). He served in the 172nd Air National Guard of Mississippi and the Reserve of the United States Air Force working as a firefighter. After graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in accounting, he began his 52 year career in finance, which led him to institutions across the state including: Unifirst Federal Savings and Loans (Jackson, MS), MS Diversified Corporation (Jackson, MS), and First Guaranty Savings and Loan (Hattiesburg, MS). In 2005, Harold became President of LEC, inc (Pearl, MS) where he was instrumental in helping to shape the company into what it is today. He was also a vital resource for various businesses and organizations for many years as a financial consultant.
Harold was well-respected, and known for his excellent work ethic, kind nature and integrity. He was devoted to his community and served faithfully on several church committees. He helped charter the Crossgates Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Battalion Chief. He also served as the President of the Mississippi Chapter of the Financial Managers Society for the Savings Institutions and as a member of the board of directors of the Jackson Chapter of National Association of Accountants.
In 1968, Harold married the love of his life, Linda Price. Together, they went on countless adventures and raised two wonderful children, Justin and Liz, who were the pride and joy of his life. Harold was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his top priority and he was always willing to help them in any way he was needed. Harold was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and a variety of other outdoor hobbies and projects. In recent years, he enjoyed fishing in the marsh and spending time with his family and friends at Hogue Harbor in Gautier, Mississippi.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at11:00 a.m. both will be held at Crossgates United Methodist church, 23 Crossgates Drive, Brandon Mississippi, 39042. He will be laid to rest at Crestview Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Children’s of Mississippi (formerly Batson Children's hospital).
