Harold D. Holbrook, 82, passed away on Mon. Jan. 19, 2015 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Wed. Jan. 21, 2015 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. with visitation at 12pm on Wed. Jan. 21, 2015 at the funeral home.
Mr. Holbrook was born in Polkville, MS and has lived most of his life in Jackson, MS. He was a member of Flowood Baptist Church. Mr. Holbrook served his country in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant with the MP’s during the Korean War and he also retired in 1986 as a Captain from the Jackson Fire Department. Mr. Holbrook enjoyed fishing, boating and woodworking, but most of all he was a gentle man who had a great sense of humor.
Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife, Mary Trimm Holbrook; daughter, Katherine Suntken; son, Hal Holbrook; granddaughter, Katie Holbrook and two grandsons, Haley Holbrook and John Suntken. Mr. Holbrook is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Katherine Ann Alvis Holbrook and his brother, Aubert Holbrook.
