Harold R. Smith, Jr., 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 2:15 until the 3:15 Service at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Harold Root Smith, Jr. was born on December 23, 1934 in Milford Connecticut to the late Harold Root and Caroline Smith. Harold served 27 years in the U. S. Military. He was a Korean War Veteran and a former Green Beret. He was a great patriot.
Whether working in marine electronics on the Mississippi river or leasing gas/oil properties as a petroleum landman, Harold enthusiastically devoted himself to his work.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Janie Lomax Smith of Brandon; and his son, Harold Alexander Smith of Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
