Harry Walling

January 26, 1925 — January 23, 2017

Mr. Harry Luman Walling, age 91 passed away on January 23, 2017 at the MS Care Center of Morton, MS. There was a Memorial Visitation held on January 25, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Polkville, MS led by the family.
Mr. Walling was born to his parents, Carl Ulysses Walling and Ethel Johansen Walling on January 26, 1925 in Greenfield, MS which is known as Brandon, MS now.
He was Baptist by faith and attended several churches in his life. He was a Civil Engineer who worked as the State Aid Engineer for Rankin County for some 30 years. He had earned two Bachelor's degrees one was in Agriculture and the other a Bachelor's of Civil Engineering Degree. The family said that he was a fulltime traveler of which he thoroughly enjoyed. Mr. Harry and his wife have travelled all over the U.S. in a motor home from Alaska to Vermont where he had gone to a Bluegrass festival. He would bake bread-in-a-jar, cakes on the road and give them to people he met on his trips. He loved his special wife Resa, his family and friends. He never met a stranger.
Mr. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ethel Walling; his brother, Oscar Walling; sisters, Hilma McDonald and Idella (Dell) Hankins.
He is survived by his wife, Resa Dowdy Walling; his son, Marc (Eva) Walling of Lexington, KY; his grandchildren, Rebecca Walling and McKenzie Walling; his many nieces and nephews and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.
