Our beloved Poppa-Captain has reached his final destination and Heaven is a little sweeter with his presence. He had started saying bye-bye now-but this is not a final bye-bye-this is until we meet again. He was a loving husband, poppa-and friend.
Mr. Greer had a great passion for fishing, hunting and playing the guitar. He was a River Boat Captain for 40 years, starting as a young man and working his way to be a Master Captain. The river was a big part of his life. There are so many fond memories of him and he lived life to the fullest and loved life with a passion.
Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maggie Greer; sons, John and Scott Clark; sisters, Audrea Ward and Ann Ward.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Greer of Brandon; daughters, Angie Ainsworth (Johnny) of Richland and Cheryl Smith (Larry) of Brandon; son, Steve Clark (Lynda Ann) of Laurel; brother, J. V. Greer (Phyllis) of Brandon; sister, Faye Dellasua of Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great- grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
