Mrs. Helen Parker Shoemaker Osburn, age 80, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Merit Health Center in Brandon, MS. Visitation was held 5-8pm Friday, October 9, 2015 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held 2pm Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Leesburg Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Ronny Wright, Bro. Billy Ray Parker and Bro. Joseph Oster officated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Osburn was born in Rankin County on March 6, 1935. Helen had a passion for helping at the Wee Care Mission in Morton. She loved to quilt and giving them to her family brought her much joy. Helen leaves behind a legacy of leadership, love for God, love for her family and love for helping others before her self. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Parker and Mary Estelle Williams Parker; husband, David Franklin Osburn; 2 children, Terry Jack Shoemaker and Merry Amanda Thompson and 2 great grandchildren, McKenzie Tucker and Cameron Roby.

She is survived by her 4 children, Jerry shoemaker (Debbie) of Leesburg, Sherry Roby (John) of Brandon, Michael Shoemaker of D’Lo and Sheila Moudy (Paul Allen) of Sandhill; 2 sisters, Shirley Grimes of Carthage and Linda Cantrell of Columbiana, AL; brother, James Parker of Leesburg; 9 grandchildren, Jeremy Shoemaker (Nikki), Heather Bishop (Bobby), Brandy Sanchez (Kevin), John Roby II (Lacee), Ashley Corkern, Nick Thompson, Charles King, Helena Wright (Ronny) and Kandis King; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 step children, Jim Osburn (Sherry), Dan Osburn (Lauri) and James Osburn (Carolyn); her 2 loving dogs, Little Man and Rose; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Tommy Hill, Jeremy Shoemaker, Charles King, John Roby II, Dustin Wright and Bobby Bishop. Honorary pallbearers were Jake Shoemaker and Daniel Wright.

Memorials may be made in her honor to the New Life Church, 140 New Life Drive, Braxton, MS 39044.
