Mrs. Helen Rawson, age 72, a resident of Morton passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at her residence. Visitation was held 5-9pm Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Sunday, March 17, 2013 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens. Rev Claude Shufelt and Rev. Bob Smith officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Rawson was born in Carthage, MS in 1940. She loved to always be going somewhere and loved to clean her home. Spending time with her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren brought great joy to her and she will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benny Lee Kellum and Ida Ursa Ferguson Kellum; son, Bobby Joe Rawson and daughter , Marilyn Marie Evans.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph (Joe) Rawson of Morton; 3 children, Jimmy Rawson of Morton, Cynthia Jolly (Timmy) of Morton and Shirley Freeny (Joey) of Carthage; sisters, Ursa Mae Horn of Carthage and Eva Stewart of Carthage; brothers, Benny Edward Kellum of Carthage and Troy Kellum of Arkansas; 9 grandchildren, Nancy Pinter (Billy), Joseph Evans (Kristie), Eric Evans (Leeann), Kristian Hall, Rebecca Craft (Jeffrey), Matthew Jolly, Amber Jolly, Brandon Hall and Hannah Jolly; 10 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Joseph Evans, Eric Evans, Brandon Hall, Matthew Jolly, B.J. Warren and Sean Adcox.
