Helen Rhodes, 96, passed away on December 14, 2016, at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services will be 11am Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Rankin County. She was a faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church since 1937. She served as Sunday school teacher, MYF advisor, on administrative board, and was the first woman to serve on the campground committee.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her home was always open to everyone.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Irl R. Rhodes and Genie Robbins; son George A. Rhodes; great grandchild Harrison Hawk; her parents; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers.
Survivors include her son, Irl Dean Rhodes (Brenda); daughter-in-law Peggy Rhodes; grandchildren, Jeff (Julie) Rhodes, Scott Rhodes, Greg (Ashley) Rhodes, Kristi (Damon) Hawk; 4 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her longtime friend Renee Learch.
Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church or a memorial of choice.
