Helen L. Turner, 80, died Tuesday August 21, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Brandon. Visitation will be held Wednesday August 22, 2012 from 6p.m.- 7p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the funeral home with interment to follow in the Lakewood Memorial Park Clinton.
Ms. Turner was born in Texas, and lived in Clinton for 45 years. Her religion was Baptist and was also a member of Pocahontas Baptist Church in Jackson. Ms. Turner was also the first Queen of the Daughters of the Nile for the state of Mississippi.
Ms. Turner is preceded in death by her husband Howard E. Turner Sr.; her parents Joe and Esther Smith; two brothers JD Smith and Bill Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Hope Bishop; son in law, Wayne; son, Howard E. Turner Jr.; granddaughter, Ashley Bishop Vance and husband, Phillip; grandson, Jeremy Cargile; sister, Shirley Thompson. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
