Helen Katherine Cox Underwood, age 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday January 20, 2024, in Niceville, Fl.

A Celebration of Helen’s Life will be at 1:00pm Friday, January 26, 2024, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with visitation starting at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

She was born in Jackson, MS on July 21, 1929, to the late Herbert Shands Cox and Mabel Taylor Cox. Helen spent her life serving others in the field of missions, kindergarten education and was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.

Helen is survived by her children David Underwood of Freeport, FL, Randy (Loretta) Underwood of Batesville, MS, and Jonelle Brown of Gautier, MS; brother Harvey (Jeanette) Cox of Fort Worth, TX; four grandchildren Amanda Mitchell, Jessica Underwood-Brown; Steven Underwood; and Matthew Underwood; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, husband retired Air Force Chief Warrant Officer 4 George Thomas Underwood, brothers Paul Cox, Bobby Cox, and Charles Cox.
