Helga Watson

Helga B. Watson, age 90, a resident of Morton, formerly of Forest died Tuesday April 2, 2013 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 10am Friday April 5, 2013 from the chapel of the OTT & LEE FUNERAL HOME of Forest with interment in the Harperville Memorial Park. Visitation was held from 5pm-8pm Thursday April 4, 2013. Music was provided by Irene Martin, William Watson and Tonja Madison. Rev. John Miles officiated.

Mrs. Watson was born in Scott County on June 2, 1922 to her parents John Raymond Burnham and Fannie Woods Burnham. She was a longtime member of the Harperville Baptist Church. She loved gardening and the outdoors. Mrs. Watson especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John Raymond Burnham and Fannie “Mamma” Burnham, and her husband, Hubert W. Watson. She was also preceded in death by a brother; Roy Burnham, 3 sisters; Doris Gallaspy, Reba Jackson and Nancy Freeman.


Survivors include her 3 children; Linda Wiggins of Hattiesburg, Gleda Williams of Meridian and William Watson of Brisbane, CA., 2 sisters; Irene B. Martin of Forest, Jackie Noel of Pensacola, FL. 1 brother John R. Burnham of Forest, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were Tommy Burnham, Jim Gallaspy, Kerry Jackson, Jimmy Freeman, David Lee, Russell Martin, Randy Noel and Hanna Watson. Matthew Wiggins served as an honorary pallbearer.
