Henry Townsend

March 19, 1925 — November 12, 2017

Mr. Henry Townsend age 92, passed away into eternal glory on November 11, 2017 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from the Concord Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Concord Baptist Church with interment to be at the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.

Mr. Henry was born on March 19, 1925 to his parents, John Enos and Virgie Noblin Townsend in Pelahatchie, MS.  Mr.Townsend was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for numerous years at Concord Baptist Church where he was a member.  He was a World War II veteran, and served on the USS Alfred G. Cunningham Destroyer and he was a Plankster member.  He was self-employed in the farming industry.  He loved basketball, and he greatly loved his grand-children, and great-grandchildren very much and his family and friends.

Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ladell Stegall Townsend; his son Freddy Hugh Townsend; and his parents, John Enos and Virgie Noblin Townsend.

He is survived by his, son, Henry Eugene (Janet) Townsend of Pelahatchie, MS; his daughter, Joyce (Jimmy) Bramlett of Granbury, TX; his son, Tracy (Pattie) Townsend of Bay Springs, MS; his son, Dale (Amy) Townsend of Wade, MS; his seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Danny Gray, Vinson Gray, Tony Townsend, Ray Wood Townsend, Sonny May, Jason Harper, and Kevin Gordin.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee in Morton.
