Visitation will be held Mon. September 23, 2013 from 11am-2pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm Monday, September 23, 2013 at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Cato Cemetery. Rev. Tom Pace will officiate the services and pallbearers will be his nephews, Danny Johnson, Ken Gill, Tommy Moore, James Berry, Marshall Boyette and Kenneth Kendrick II. Mr. Gill taught school in the Hazlehurst City Schools and Magnolia. He was a veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elta Gill; brothers, Monroe Gill, Andrew Gill, Earl Gill, Fred Gill and a sister, Lucille Gill Shotts. He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth Gill of Johns and Guy Gill of Jackson; sisters, Ruth Smalhout of Johns, Sarah Johnson of Brandon, Helen Van Fleet of Jackson, Dorothy Montgomery (Ray) of Canton, Jean Mills (Downey) of Tulsa, OK and Carolyn Dickerson (Vic) of Brandon and a host of nieces and nephews. A very special thanks to his caregivers, Birda Howell, Janie Brown, Mary Kemp and to Southern Care Hospice.
