Hershel Griffin

Mr. Hershel Griffin, age 70, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his home in the Cooperville community. Born on January 3, 1955, to L.E.and Vena Mae Evans Griffin. Hershel was an avid fox hunter, he loved to cook and enjoyed working on his truck. Hershel could be seen on many occasions riding his four-wheeler spraying fire ants.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L.E., and Vena Griffin; sister, Bertha Colyer, brother, Charles E. Griffin. He is survived by two sisters, Mary H. McKinney, Lena Evelyn Cumberland, (John); four brothers, Lee Griffin, David Griffin, (Modena), Hughy Griffin, (Peggy), and Leonard Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, February 21, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS and on Saturday, February 22, from 12:00pm to 1:50pm at Ott and Lee with the Funeral following at 2:00pm in the Chapel, Bro. Joey Griffin will be officiating the service. Serving as pallbearers, Andy Griffin, Jerron Griffin, Lee Griffin, Nicholas Griffin, Johnny Cumberland, and Johnny Grogan. Honorary pallbearers, Mitch Pickett, Caleb Champion, Matthew Griffin, Tommy Champion, and David Pennock. Burial will be at Morton Memorial Gardens.
