Hershell Morgan, Jr., 60, a resident of Morton died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton, MS. Graveside services were held 11 am Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Morton Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held 5-8 pm Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Rev. John Sanders officiated the services. Services were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home.
Mr. Morgan was a native of Boliver County, MS. He was the son of James Hershell Morgan, Sr. and Alice Mae Skinner Morgan. He was married to Melinda McGriff Morgan. Mr. Morgan was worked with Mitchell Technical Services as a Biologist for many years. He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening was among his favorite activities outdoors. He was very proud of his personal knife stamp bearing his own logo. Mr. Morgan loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, James Hershell Morgan, Sr. and Alice Mae Skinner Morgan.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Melinda Morgan of Morton; children, Shayne (Judy) Jones of Puckett, Veronica Jones of Morton, James Morgan of Marion, AR, Michael (Candice) Morgan of Marion, AR and Cody Shedd of Morton; sisters, Kay Morgan Marshall of LaPorte, TX and Linda Morgan Johnson of Waco, TX; 7 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving and honoring Mr. Morgan was Donovan Phillips, Mike Black, Sonny Davis, Danny Barfield, Tink Rangsdale, Beau Black, Randy Roberts, Ken Worthy, Graham Gray, Don Mixon and J.J. McGriff.
