Hershell William Taylor, age 78 and a resident of the Pulaski community died Tuesday January 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home at 10am Saturday January 19, 2019. Bro. Tommy Anderson will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Friday January 18, 2019 and again Saturday morning from 9am to 9:45am prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville.
Mr. Taylor was born on Thursday May 14, 1940 in Laurel, MS to his parents Troy Taylor and Lurline Jones Taylor. He was a member of Lorena Baptist Church. He had been a self-employed poultry farmer and was also an accomplished welder. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carol Taylor Davis and brother, Morris Lee Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Sharon C. Taylor , son David Taylor and wife Suzanne all of Pulaski. Other survivors include one brother, Robert C. Taylor and wife Claudine of Sandhill, 2 sisters, Diana T. Ward of Biloxi and Bobbie Boykin of Star. He also leaves a legacy of four grandchildren, Preston Blake Taylor, David Matthew Taylor, Kristen Hallman , Dalton Hallman, and five great-grandchildren, Arian Anderson, Kadin Anderson, Coby Anderson, Macy Anderson and Colin Anderson.
Pallbearers are Mike Wicker, Allan Powell, Jody Derrick, Ken Powell, Mark Tanner and Danny Bishop.
