Hobson Frank SmithBrandon, MSRev. Hobson Frank Smith, 73, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. Visitation is 5-8pm Tuesday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Memorial Services are 11am Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Pinelake Church Reservoir Campus with visiting starting at 10am.Mr. Smith was born in Magee, MS on October 2, 1939 to the late Lamar Hobson Smith and Mary Yates Smith. He graduated Magee High School in 1958 and attended Copiah Lincoln, Clarke College and William Carey College.Rev. Smith pastored various churches over 50 years in ministry including Mountain Creek Baptist in Florence, Concord Baptist in Pelahatchie and Sunrise Baptist in Carthage. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Griffith Smith, married for over 49 years; two sons, Joseph Franklin (Rachelle) Smith of Chesapeake, VA and W. Timothy (Lynnette) Smith of Brandon, MS; 6 grandchildren, Levi Smith and Zoe Smith of Brandon, and Ashley Smith Patek of Malakoff, TX, Joseph Smith of Malakoff, TX, Jessica Smith of Chesapeake, VA, and Travis Smith of Chesapeake, VA; 2 great grandchildren, Mattie Patek and Marley Patek of Malakoff, TX. He was preceded in death by parents and a sister, Linda Magee. Memorials may be made to Pinelake Church, Benevolence Fund.
