23, passed away in Hattiesburg, MS, on June 2, 2013. Visitation is 4pm until 8pm Wednesday, June
5, 2013, and 11am – 12 Noon Thursday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in
Brandon. Graveside services with full
military honors are 3pm Thursday, at Hughes Cemetery in Tylertown, MS.



Holden was born on June 29,
1989 and was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church. Sgt. Hughes returned to the United States on
April 25, 2013 from serving 400 days in Afghanistan and was very recently
promoted to E-5 Sergeant.



Survivors include his father,
Kyle Hughes and step mother, Karen of Brandon; mother, Angie Hood and step
father, Jim of Brandon; half-sister, McKenzie Hughes; half-brothers, Mason,
Myles and Max Mathieu; step brothers, Conner and Reed Ozborn; step-sisters,
Taylor Ozborn and Ada Hood; paternal grandparents, Kelly Ray Hughes and Ivy
Jewell Hughes and paternal great grandmother, Goldie Hill and maternal grandparents,
Reba and Rick Moon, Evelyn Dukes and Wanda Butler.
