Horace A. Goolsby, 85, passed away Sat. Nov. 17, 2012 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Sun. Nov. 18, 2012 from 5pm.-8pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am. Mon. Nov. 19, 2012 at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Goolsby was born in Madison County, MS and has been a resident of Brandon, MS for the past 23 years. He was an active member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Goolsby is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Goolsby and his son, Mike Goolsby.
He is survived by his son, Glen Goolsby and his wife Angie of Brandon, MS; three grandchildren, Kacy Goolsby and Drew Goolsby both of Brandon, MS and Josh Goolsby of Tennessee and his two brothers, Raymond Goolsby of Bolton, MS and Robert Goolsby of Hattiesburg, MS.
