Howard O. Stevens, born November 1, 1927, in Anguilla, MS, passed on to be with his Lord on June 27, 2014, at Brandon Court Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with services held at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 29. Reverend Tal Vardaman will officiate.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Sally Ruth Hill Stevens. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Stevens Robinson and her husband Jim, his son Howard Mark Stevens and wife Cindy, five grandchildren, Melissa Robinson Shanks and husband Ray, Jeremy Brent Robinson and wife Kristen, Leslie Robinson Walker and husband Bryan, Christopher Mark Stevens, and Kevin Grant Stevens, and two great grand-children Hunter Thomas Robinson and Ella Carter Robinson.

Mr. Stevens was a member of Pelahatchie Baptist Church. He and his wife Sally were active in serving the Lord through their clown ministry, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and the prison ministry. Their final years in ministry were spent teaching in the R.I.D. program at various prisons across the state.

They were foster parents for the Rankin County Youth Court and held worship services at Pelahatchie Lake and Timberlake Campgrounds.
Howard never met a stranger. He loved people and fellowshipping with friends, was an avid hunter and fisherman.
