Hubert W. “Duck” Baker, 67, a lifelong resident of Brandon, MS was called to his Heavenly home on May 16, 2017. He had been in the Baptist Hospital for two months with many health conditions. Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10 am until 12 Noon at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 pm in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Rev. Rick Henson and Rev. Floyd Steverson will officiate the Service.
Hubert Wade Baker was born in Jackson Mississippi on January 25, 1950 to the late Otis Harvey and Maggie Frances Sebren Baker. Duck, as he was known, was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent more than fifty years confined to a wheelchair. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for anyone he spoke to. He worked for the IRS for more than 20 years as a time keeper. He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon.
Duck is survived by his brothers, Otis Jerry Baker (Shirley), Thomas L. Baker (Merle), and Walter “Boo” Baker (Jan) all of Brandon; nephews and nieces, Karen Baker, Missy Baker McKee, Brent Baker, Brian Baker, and Dustin Baker; great nephews and great nieces, Davis McKee, Maddie McKee, Simms Baker, Charles Baker, Vivian Baker, Maloy Baker, Mary Meyers Baker, and Chapel Baker.
