Funeral services for Mr. Hugh L. Harrell will be conducted at 2 pm on Friday, November 27, 2015 from the Ott & Lee Chapel with Bro. Jeremy Price officiating.
The eulogy will be delivered by Mr. Lee Harrell (nephew of Mr. Hugh).
Music will be provided by Mrs. Marcele Price.
Interment will follow in the Clifton Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 am until 1:45 pm at the funeral home.
Hugh L. Harrell was born in Scott County on January 1, 1932 and passed away November 24, 2015 at his home at the age of 83.
Mr. Harrell was an outdoor enthusiast. He was a member of the Dog Hunting Association, as hunting turkey, deer, and squirrels were favorite past times that his family recalled as good memories. He enjoyed fishing, trapping, running dogs, and gardening. He was a “family” man who dearly loved his grandchildren. Described as a “people” person, he never met a stranger. He served his country during the Korean War Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Clifton Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Johnnie C. and Minnie Lee Bailey Harrell; one grandchild: Gracie Eure; and one brother: Clois Harrell.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Kitty “Sook” Harrell of Forest; two children: Jimmy Wayne (Michelle) Harrell of Morton and Pamela (Dennis “Dink”) Eure of Forest; three grandchildren: Brian (Kim) Eure, Josh Eure and Ryan Harrell; one great-grandchild: Avery Grace Eure; two sisters: Linda (Jimmy) Gibbs of Forest and Joan (Joe) Freeman of Union; two brothers: Lamar (Billie) Harrell of Pelahatchie and Travis (Mary) Harrell of Brandon; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Eure, Josh Eure, Ryan Harrell, Eddie Harrell, Richard Pope, and Johnny Pettigrew.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Lyle, Johnny Eure, Danny Edmonds, W.T. Harrell, Phillip Waggoner, Buddy Moore, and James Doyle Harrell.
