Ian Wright

Ian Wright age 79, died peacefully at home with his family on Saturday November 13 on 2021.

Ian was born and raised in Crawley England. He did a 7 yr course at college in tool making. He was skilled in designing and plastic mold injection and had his own company for many years before emigrating to the States in 1993.

He was a loving father to his daughter, Deborah and Julia, and son Tony, who he adored and enjoyed spending time with. He was also a wonderful stepfather to Hayley, Heidi and Russell and doting grandfather to 13 grandchildren.

He had a very laid-back nature, always smiling and would do anything for anyone with pleasure, he was a kind gentle person and was adored by all who knew him. He loved the Lord and went on many mission trips with his brothers and sisters in Christ, who he treasured! He dedicated a lot of his time to helping others and visiting the elderly in nursing homes and taking some on day trips. He will be missed by many!

He was a wonderful husband who use to spoil his wife completely! He and Catherine loved camping, they would go on short trips with Heidi and Doug, enjoying barbecues, fishing and boating. He always looked forward to his children visiting from England and would have fun vacations with them! They would also go just the two of them and their dogs on great adventures all over Mississippi. Their most memorable being their retirement trip to Yellowstone.

All these precious moments will never be forgotten! He will always be treasured in our hearts as a loving, husband, father, and grandfather.

Ian’s surviving family are his wife, Catherine, his brother, Brian, two girls, Deborah and Julia and a son, Tony. He also was a step - father to Catherine’s two daughters, Hayley and Heidi and her son, Russell and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence, MS with interment following at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland, MS. Visitation will be held at the church starting at 10:00 am Thursday.
