Mrs. Ila Rhea Adcox, age 81, a resident of the Polkville Community passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Scott Regional Hosital in Morton. Visitation was held 5pm-9pm Friday, November 17, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 11am-1:45am Saturday at Oak Grove Church of God. Services were held 2pm Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Oak Grove Church of God with burial in First Baptist Church Polkville Cemetery. Bro. Scott Adcox, Bro. Robert Gatewood and Bro. Otha Lee Dennis officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Adcox was born in Smith County on April 29, 1936. Ila Rhea loved being outdoors working in her flowers, and picking up and burning sticks. She loved the Lord and enjoyed buying church clothes for her children and grandchildren to wear to church. Ila Rhea enjoyed the holidays because she knew her family would all be together visiting and enjoying a meal together. Her kind heart and big smile will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Adcox; parents, Delmon David Willett and Clyde Odessa Porter Pace; 2 children, Kendall Scott Adcox and Randall Eugene Adcox; sister, Maureen Bradshaw; brother, David Willitt.
She is survived by her children, Billy David Adcox (Jacqueline) of Brandon, April Arleen Byrne (Jimmy) of Polkville, Donna Darleen Adcox of Morton and Shereen “Nell” Wilson (Melvin) of Polkville; 9 grandchildren, William David Adcox, Athena Joylene “Sissy” Brown (Rusty), Scott Eugene Adcox (Rheannan), Tanya Marie Quick (James), Dianne Gilson (David), Heather Byrne, Darlene Abernathy (R.C.), Tyler Wilson and Anna Wilson; 21 great grandchildren, Jonathan Adcox, Natalie Adcox, Garrett Adcox, Shawn Allen, Shiloh Brown, Maelah Brown, Bennett Brown, Taylor Adcox, Triston Adcox, Marison Adcox, Parker Adcox, Arleigh Taylor, Ava Grace Quick, Mary Ashton Quick, Crysta Ford, Kamin Gilson, Storm Gilson, Dakota Gilson, Judy Byrne, Hayden Caraway and Lane Abernathy; 3 great great grandchildren, Allory Black, McKenna Bailey and Augustus “Augi” Simone; 2 special friends, June B. Mauney and Syble Russell; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Rusty Brown, James Quick, John David Jones, Mack Adcox, Ryan Jones, Jonathon Adcox, Triston Adcox and Tyler Wilson.
