Ilene Rucker

Ilene Mann Rucker, 91, a resident of Brandon, MS, died peacefully at home the morning of Feb. 20, 2023. Visitation will be held on Sat. Feb. 25, 2023 from 10am-12pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 12pm on Sat. Feb. 25, 2023 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 3:30pm on Sat. Feb. 25, 2023 at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS.

Mrs. Rucker was born Aug. 13, 1931, in Attala County, MS and was the only daughter of Virgie Mae (Armstrong) Mann and Milton Mann. Mrs. Rucker was a retired cosmetologist and owner of Ilene’s Kut and Kurl in Pearl, MS and was also a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Montgomery County, MS. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Thurmon Rucker; her brothers and their wives, Carlton Mann (Louise) and Charles Mann (Ann).

Mrs. Rucker is survived by her daughter, Jane Rucker Sutton and her husband William R. Sutton of Brandon, MS; her grandsons, Justin Sutton (Katy) of Biloxi, MS, Joshua Sutton (Jordan) of Brandon, MS and her three great-grandchildren, Kylie Sutton and Luke Sutton of Brandon, MS and Benjamin Sutton of Biloxi, MS.

Mrs. Rucker often spoke about her trust in Jesus Christ alone as her Lord and Savior. She reminded all that He held her days in His hands and she was ready to go Home in His timing. Her salvation provides the family comfort and peace that exceeds understanding knowing she is healed completely, alive more than ever, and waits for us.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or French Camp Academy.
