Ina Ruth Shoemaker, age 80, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton. Visitation was held 10am-1:30pm Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Tuesday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery. Bro. Tal Vardaman officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Shoemaker was born in Scott County on August 11, 1936. She was a member of the Pelahatchie Assembly of God Church and loved the Lord. Ina Ruth loved her cat, Baby, and spoiled him rotten. She loved doing things for her family and loved her kids and grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Shoemaker; parents, Taylor Henry and Savanah Harrell Henry; son, Ronnie Mitchell; brothers, Clifford and Jim Henry; sisters, Idell Brown, Rachel Prestage and Mable Pearson.
She is survived by her children, Becky Woods (Richard) of Pelahatchie and Randy Mitchell of Pelahatchie; 4 grandchildren, Crystal Padgett, Kimberly Woods, Jamie Odom (David Trotter) and Taylor Mitchell; 6 great grandchildren, Cameron Padgett, Harley Padgett, Braylin Cumberland, Devin Odom, Devon Odom and Nevaeh Reese; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Joey Coward, Mark Ragan, Huey Tucker, Mike Cornelison, Randy Mitchell and Cameron Padgett.
