Ira W. Donald

Mr. Ira W. Donald, age 87, a resident of Morton, MS, passed away in Meridian, on, Monday, September 9, 2024. Born on July 11, 1937, to Floyd L. and Susie L. Williams Donald. He was married to Hazel Hayman Donald for many years, before her death in 2005. Ira was a member of Independence Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for several years. Ira was an avid hunter, even with his failing eyesight he was able to bag a buck deer just a few years ago. Other hobbies were fishing and talking to his family and friends,  and will be missed by all that knew him.

Ira is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Hayman Donald, his parents, Floyd and Susie Donald, and his sister, Johnnie Sue Sims. He is survived by his only niece, Kay Stuart, her husband, Direll, great niece, Shirell Betts, her husband, Michael, great nephew, Doug Stuart, his wife, Wendy, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00am to 11:00am, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Independence Methodist Church, Funeral Services will follow at 11:00am at the church. Bro. Jerry Lewis and Bro. Paul McDonald will be officiating the Services. Serving as pallbearers are Doug Stuart, Michael Betts, Jett Stuart, Tyler Betts, and Josh Stuart. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
